QualX is a user-friendly program for qualitative phase analysis of X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) data, developed by the Istituto di Cristallografia of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). It uses a search–match approach to identify crystalline phases by comparing experimental patterns with reference databases, including the ICDD Powder Diffraction File and the Crystallography Open Database. The software offers practical tools for background subtraction, peak detection, and Kα2 stripping, and it supports a range of common diffractometer file formats. Users can filter and rank candidate phases using chemical constraints and other criteria, streamlining the identification of single- or multi-phase samples. With an intuitive, cross-platform graphical interface and clear reporting, QualX is well suited for routine laboratory work, research, and teaching in materials science, geology, chemistry, and related fields.
QualX is developed by Istituto di Cristallografia, CNR and is used by 3 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.2. The name of the program executable file is QualX.exe.
